These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our shop's services and website.

By accessing this website and/or our services, you accept these terms and conditions in full. Do not continue to use our services if you do not accept all of the terms and conditions stated on this page.

 

1. General Information

Our business is an independent book shop, which means our operations may differ from larger retail chains. We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time, so please review them frequently.

 

2. Shop Opening Hours

Toadstools Bookshop's planned opening hours are as follows: 

Monday: Closed
Tuesday: Closed (May be open for planned events)
Wednesday: 10am-2pm

Thursday: 10am-2pm
Friday: 10am-2pm
Saturday: 10am-4pm
Sunday: Closed
 

As an independent business, our physical shop's opening hours may vary due to unforeseen circumstances, holidays, or other events. While we will do our best to provide timely updates on our website and social media channels, we cannot guarantee fixed hours of operation. We advise customers to check our latest updates before planning a visit.

 

3. Online Orders and Availability

All products are subject to availability. While we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of our online stock levels, discrepancies may occur. If an item you have ordered is out of stock, we will contact you as soon as possible to offer an alternative, a refund, or to inform you of the expected restock date.

 

4. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in local currency and are subject to change without notice. All payments must be made in full before an order is dispatched. We are not responsible for any additional fees charged by your bank or payment provider.

 

5. Shipping and Delivery

We will ship your order to the address provided during checkout. Shipping times are estimates and may vary depending on your location and external factors. We are not responsible for delays caused by the shipping carrier.

 

6. Returns and Refunds

We accept returns of unused and undamaged items within a specified number of days from the date of purchase. For online orders, please contact us for a return authorisation before shipping the item back. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method after we have received and inspected the returned item. Please read the separate Returns and Refunds Policy for more information. 

 

7. Intellectual Property

The content, including text, graphics, logos, images, and digital downloads on this website, is our property or the property of our content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws.

 

8. Limitation of Liability

We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services or the purchase of our products. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the product or service in question.

Terms & Conditions for Authors/Artists/Makers (Rent-a-shelf)

Firstly, thank you so much for choosing Toadstools Bookshop as a valued home for your creations. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully, and get in touch as soon as possible if you have any queries.

1. Subscription and Payment 

The Author/Artist/Maker agrees to pay for the shelf or wall space of their choice through the Shop's website. Payments are due upfront for each month of the subscription. If the subscription payment is made before the Maker's stock is in place in the Shop, the Shop will honour the extra days at the end of the subscription period to compensate. Failure to pay for the shelf or wall space will result in the immediate removal of the Maker's stock from sale. 

 

2. Stock Ownership and Liability 

All stock displayed on the shelf or wall space remains the property of the Author/Artist/Maker. In the event of damage or theft, the stock will be covered under the Shop's contents insurance. Along with your stock items, please provide a list which includes all of the items and their prices. As items sell, Toadstools Bookshop will be responsible for keeping the list up to date, and will notify you when it needs replenishing.

3. Sales and Payouts 

The Shop will be responsible for handling all sales of the Maker's stock. At the end of each monthly billing period, the Shop will send the Maker the money earned from the sales of their stock during that period. This payment will be made into the bank account details that were provided on your application form.

4. Marketing and Logistics 

The Shop agrees to regularly advertise the Maker's stock on the Shop's social media channels. The Shop will arrange for the postage or collection of the Maker's stock. The Author/Artist/Maker can provide a planogram if required. The Shop will also provide regular photographs to show the position and layout of the stock. 

 

5. Shop Hours and Closure Policy 

The Shop's opening hours will be updated on the Toadstools Bookshop Facebook page. These hours are subject to change to meet the needs of the owner. If the Shop is closed on days it is meant to be open for more than three (3) days in a single week due to staff sickness or childcare needs, the Maker will be offered either free additional time on their subscription or a discount on the following month's rent. This compensation policy does not apply to closures caused by weather, building issues, or other external events beyond the Shop's control. 

 

6. Termination of Agreement 

If the Maker wishes to end this subscription agreement, they must provide one (1) week's notice before their subscription is due to renew.

7. Rules on what can be sold

Toadstools Bookshop has the right to remove from sale any items which has the following: 

• Copyrighted images i.e. Disney characters, logos, etc. 

• Contains alcohol, tobacco products or other age restricted items. 

• Promotes hate against groups of people, whether that be through words, imagery etc. Toadstools Bookshop is open to all, LGBT+ inclusive and welcome to everyone of all faiths and backgrounds. 

• Overtly political themes. 

• Any illegal imagery (which will be handled through the legal system)
